The North Dakota Board of Nursing has created an alternative to discipline program called the Nurse Assistance Program (NAP) to assist nurses who are strugglingwith behavioral health, physical health, or substance use disorders, providing apath to recovery and intervention before nursing practice is impacted.

The ND Board of Nursing was the recipient of the 2022 Regulatory Achievement Award. This award recognizes the member board or associate member that has made an identifiable, significant contribution to the mission and vision of NCSBN in promoting public policy related to the safe and effective practice of nursing in the interest of public welfare.
